IronLak Video for Art Basel | Miami 2012: Alynn Mags.

From the desk of IronLak.com
"Each year in alignment with the Art Basel show, graffiti and street artists from around America and the world descend upon Miami’s Wynwood district to rejuvenate the area with a fresh coat of paint. Following a tradition started by Primary Flight, Wynwood has evolved from a bleak industrial environment into one full of life and culture. In December 2012 Lea Bruno photography travelled to Miami to capture the festivities and find out what it’s all about."

Amandalynn-Lady Mags showing at Known Gallery

This coming Saturday, February 2nd, 2013 Amandalynn and Lady Mags ( ALynn-Mags ) will be having new work exhibited at Known Gallery in Los Angeles, CA. They will be accompanied by the very talented and prolific, Jamie Oliver and Lucien Shapiro .

Amandalynn is a long time San Francisco based Muralist, Fine Artist, Conservator, and Designer. Within her fine art, Amandalynn is recognized for her sensual portraits of seductive yet secretive women. Her street art murals reflect similar imagery, which she began painting in 2001 with the Seventh Letter crew.
Lady Mags has been a graffiti writer since 2006, when she started painting tracksides in Chicago.  She has travelled extensively, painting graffiti wherever she goes.  Recently, Lady Mags has begun showing fine art in galleries across the United States.
Alynn-Mags
Together, Amanda Lynn and Lady Mags are Alynn-Mags productions: a street mural and fine art team.  Both artists are San Francisco Bay Area residents, and together they have over two decades of painting experience.  Alynn-Mags has been immediately recognized for their large scale spray paint and acrylic brush paint mural combinations found across the country. In their fine art collaborations, the duo also merges different mediums and techniques to create their pieces. Lady Mags often works with abstract watercolor imagery, which Amandalynn incorporates into  her detailed illustrations.
This will be the first time the team has exhibited their combined work within a gallery setting, and are honored to have their fine art debut held at the Known Gallery in Los Angeles

Alynn-Mags-Toro gettin up

Here's some pics for last weekend's paint session. It was a beautiful day in SF.  Mags and Toro went big, it was Mags' largest piece yet. Alynn painted a portrait of the talented Tatiana Suarez and her little pooch Lucas. Much love and many thanks to our man Toro for good laughs and mad skills.

Also Thanks to Mutley Crew for the sponsorship and truck hook up!! Look out for the truck rollin around SF.  -Alynn Mags.

Alynn Mags in the tunnels: first pieces of 2013

2013 is starting off well.  Alynn-Mags finished a mural production in Oakland at a bus stop off of 2nd Ave. The duo were fortunate to be accompanied by the very talented, Lindsey Millikan, aka. Milli.  The three of them completed a new years mural in no time.
A week later, Lady Mags took Amandalynn (ALynn) down to the tunnels for Amanda's first spray piece.  She killed it! Mags sketched out some 'ALynn' letters, but Amandalynn filled and outlined herself.  Amazing work for a first time, the duo is getting stronger each day.  But the experience was not without some obstacles... Climbing into the creek proved to be a crisis, as the water was much higher than Mags remembered.  As soon as the ladies hopped in, water poured into their boots, freezing their feet. After hiking half a mile in a pitch black tunnel the two of them spent the rest of the time in waterlogged socks, pants, and boots.... makings of a very chilly experience, but all worth it in the end!  Here are a few pictures from their adventures.
